IT'S STRANGE... - This song is talking about the infinite layers of consciousness, and why something can be one way on one level and the opposite on another. At one point in my life, I had to vividly confront the strange reality of being on this earth in this body in this life. We all wake up every single day and instead of being blown away that we are, once again, right here and right now, and the majesty and the horror of it all, and all of the implications and giant questions it brings, we just shrug our shoulders and get on with our day. The last verse is taken directly from a page in Ram Dass's Be Here Now. It's a bit of a stretch to understand, but in other words, going beyond going beyond the beyond is saying letting go of the desire to go beyond the realm of nothingness, which lies beyond our normal perception of everyday life. Because just as we can get stuck in our everyday life, we can also get stuck in the realm that is beyond the beyond...pretty strange, no?
